Breast Augmentation Revision Malposition
This patient contacted our office after hearing of a friend’s positive experience at Bella Cosmetic Surgery. This patient had undergone a breast augmentation about 8 years prior and was unhappy with the asymmetry that resulted.
During her consultation, Dr. Chiaramonte explained that she had scar tissue that had formed around her breast implants, which is what was causing them to be so firm. Additionally, the implant on the right had been placed incorrectly, causing it to slip below the fold of the breast by about 3 cm.
Dr. Chiaramonte recommended that she exchange her saline implants for silicone implants because they would give her a more natural result. Through her old incisions around her nipple, he would do a slight areola reduction and lift to further tighten the skin of the breasts. He also planned on doing a capsulectomy to remove the hard scar tissue, restoring the softness of the breast and allowing the implants to sit correctly. The final step of Dr. Chiaramonte’s surgical plan was to perform a capsulorrhaphy which would repair her fold, allowing her implant to once again sit in the proper place on her chest.
This patient was thrilled with her results–she could finally wear bathing suits and shirts without bras and not have to worry about any asymmetry!
