Breast Augmentation Revision Implant Exchange
This patient was referred to Dr. Chiaramonte by a coworker who had been seen in our National Harbor office. She had undergone a breast augmentation a few years prior and was unhappy with the results. She noticed significant rippling on the sides of her implants because they had been placed subglandular. She was also unhappy with the way her nipples pointed towards the ground, something that had not been present prior to her augmentation.
Dr. Chiaramonte recommended that she switch out her implants to a slightly larger size and have them placed under the muscle. By placing the implants under the muscle she would be better able to hide the implant, reducing the risk of rippling and giving her more fullness in the upper portion of the breast. The combination of a larger implant with the submuscular positioning of the implant would also correct her downward-facing nipples.
After undergoing her implant exchange procedure, this patient was finally happy with her augmented breasts! She was happy that they looked so natural and that all of the rippling had disappeared!
