Breast Augmentation Revision Implant Exchange
This patient contacted our office after waking up one morning and noticing that one of her saline implants had ruptured, leaving one side deflated and smaller than the other. She came to Dr. Chiaramonte for a complimentary consultation to discuss her options.
Dr. Chiaramonte explained that the saline implant was ruptured and suggested she switch to silicone implants as they have a much lower rupture rate. Although the patient understood his advice, she also wanted to utilize an incision in her armpit to prevent any scars on her breasts, and the only way to do that was with saline implants.
Dr. Chiaramonte exchanged her ruptured saline implant and the old implant on the other side for new Mentor Smooth Round Saline implants filled to 350cc in order to restore the volume that she had lost with the rupture. When the patient returned for follow-up visits, she was very happy that symmetry was restored to her breasts.
