After Weight Loss
This 55 year-old patient from Alexandria, VA contacted our office after previously undergoing a major weight loss surgery. Over the previous year, she had lost over 100 pounds and was unhappy with the excess skin that remained after losing the weight. She decided to schedule a complimentary consultation to determine what her options were for removing the skin.
During her consultation, Dr. Chiaramonte recommended what is called a Fleur-de-Lis Tummy Tuck, or an Inverted-T Tummy Tuck. This type of tummy tuck would require a standard tummy tuck incision from hip-to-hip as well as an incision down the center of her stomach. This was the best option for this patient because she had extra skin not only from top-to-bottom, but from left-to-right as well.
This patient returned about two months later for a follow up visit and to have pictures taken. During her visit, she explained that she was very happy with her procedure. She lost an additional 15 pounds following surgery and was excited that clothing finally fit her correctly!
