Spa Bella Skin Care Products

The skin is the largest organ in the body and often the one we spend the most money on over the years. Attempting to rejuvenate facial skin with the use of over-the-counter products is not very successful because they generally only affect the outer, superficial layers of the skin, whereas medically prescribed treatments reach the deeper layers of the skin and result in a more uniform improvement.

Here are important things to consider about the skin care products you use:

• Cleanser - Make sure it is targeted for your skin type. Sensitive skin, for example, benefits from Poloxamer 123, an extremely gentle surfactant clinically shown to exhibit less irritation. Dry, oily and acne-prone skin - with their own unique properties - improve with specific formulas.


What are my options for looking younger and revitalized?



• Sensitive Eye Area - Firming the skin around your eyes, stimulating collagen production and relaxing the muscles around them can help diminish the fine wrinkles in this area that are usually the first tell-tale signs of aging. A compound that contains antioxidants, hydroxyacids, a special vitamin C compound, and a peptide that inhibits neurotransmitters to eye muscles is able to address all three of these major eye area concerns in one jar.
• Sunscreen - Protecting your face from both UVA and UVB rays from the sun is essential in preventing skin cancer, as well as pigmentation problems and wrinkles that arise from sun exposure. The problem is that many sunscreen products are thick and oily which makes using them with cosmetics a real challenge. Or they don't contain zinc - the most effective ingredient that protects against the sun's harmful rays - in a cosmetically acceptable form. A facial sunscreen that is chemical-free and fragrance-free with zinc that dries to a clear, silky, matte-finish enables you to use it all the time, which is the only way to give your face maximum protection from the sun.
• Pigmentation Problems - Pigmentation issues can be treated with "bleaching creams." These creams "bleach" the skin by decreasing the activity of melanocytes, pigment-producing cells. Hydroquinone is the most commonly-used depigmenting agent and is found in a higher concentration in medical, versus over-the counter, products.

Convenient, easy-to-use pads are available, which make patient compliance and consistent use more feasible.

Medical skin care products are more effective, generally because they contain higher concentrations of the active ingredients and work below the superficial layers of the skin. Ounce for ounce, this means that medical skin-care products are more expensive. However, when you consider their effectiveness or ability to solve many of your skin care problems there can be no doubt that medical products offer a better value.

The simple 4-step system is easy to adhere to, ensuring you get maximum benefit from the products. They are chemical free and fragrance free allowing those with sensitive skin to improve their skin care regimen. Active ingredients are deliberately used only when needed. For example, hydroquinone, although found in most medical skin care products, is not appropriate for all skin types or all skin conditions. I have therefore limited its use so that patients do not unnecessarily subject themselves to chronic hydroquinone exposure.
