Before   After

This 50-year-old patient from Clinton, Maryland came to the office seeking a plastic surgery solution to a nagging problem she had with swollen and saggy looking eyes. She felt that she needed to rejuvenate her eye area because of the lack of fullness and significant amount of swelling when she first woke up in the morning.

After hearing her concerns and performing an examination, I noticed that there was excess skin on her upper eyelids, a condition also visible on the lower lids. I recommended to the patient that she would be an excellent candidate for an upper and lower blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery). Many of my patients combine it with Maryland face lift, as well. The eyelid surgery procedure consists of a series of small incisions placed both above and below the socket on each lid region and removal of a strip of orbicularis (eyelid) skin. Once this skin is removed, the region is sutured back together.

The patient’s recovery following her plastic surgery in Maryland went well. She experienced minimal swelling, showed no signs of infection, and her incisions healed without much scarring. The patient was very pleased to see such results, feeling that her eyes now looked brighter, younger, and livelier. Now, looking in the mirror and putting on makeup is a much more pleasant experience for her.
