This 52-year-old patient from Waldorf, Maryland heard about my plastic surgery practice by word of mouth from a friend. She decided to come in for a consultation to find out about correcting loose and sagging skin on her upper arms, a problem she has struggled with for a long time. She felt that her arms were unattractive and flabby. After loosing over a 100 pounds, she had a lot of loose skin, but was mainly concerned with addressing the problem with her arms first. After her consultation, I recommended that she undergo a brachioplasty. This procedure includes the removal of excess skin and fat on the arm though a combination of surgical removal of tissue and liposuction. For my Maryland patients, I place an incision in the auxiliary fold of the arm to complete the liposuction and a second incision in the brachial groove to surgically tighten the skin. The excess skin along this second incision is removed and the incision is closed. After her plastic surgery at our local Maryland facility, she did very well, with her incisions healing nicely. She was so happy that the first cosmetic surgery procedure after her dramatic weight loss went so well, and she is on her way to a totally transformed body.
