Breast Lift

Maryland Breast Lift

Over time, any number of contributing factors, such as bearing and nursing children or the simple effect of gravity, can have an adverse effect on a woman’s bust. As the skin’s elasticity diminishes, the breasts can lose their perkiness and start to droop. If this describes your situation and you are a resident of Maryland, breast lift from Dr. Chiaramonte could be your solution.

Also known as a mastopexy, this is an operation which will lift and recontour a saggy bosom for a period of time. (However, no procedure is capable of permanently reversing gravity’s effects.) A mastopexy can also shrink the appearance of the areola, the darkened area of skin that surrounds the nipple. If your breasts are petite or have been depleted due to pregnancy, breast implants used at the same time can help regain both their shapeliness and volume.

Dr. Chiaramonte encourages you to request a free consultation if you are considering a breast lift so that you can learn more about this procedure and receive a professional opinion about your cosmetic needs.

Maryland Breast Lift Surgery

A mastopexy usually takes about 1½ to 3½ hours. The method used can vary from practitioner to practitioner, but the most typical method creates an anchor-shaped cut that follows the breast’s natural lines. This incision demarcates the region from which skin will be taken and specifies the nipple’s new position. When the surplus skin has been taken out, the nipple and areola are transferred to a more appropriate location. The skin around the areola is then taken in to reform the appearance of the breast. Sutures are typically found around the center, in a vertical line reaching from the nipple region and the breast’s lower natural crease.

After Your Procedure

After your procedure, you will need to keep on a stretchy bandage or a surgical brassiere over the gauze wrap. Your breasts will be discolored, irritated, and painful for a day or two, but the discomfort should not be intense. Any pain can be alleviated by the medication prescribed by your Maryland breast lift expert, Dr. Michael Chiaramonte.

After two or three days, your bandage or surgical bra will be substituted with a supportive and gentle bra. You must wear this garment both day and night for three or four weeks. The sutures will be taken out after one to two weeks.

Getting Back to Normal

Healing after a Maryland breast lift procedure is tough work, and you shouldn’t overexert your body. Although you may feel great after just a couple of days, allow for a week or more of off-time from work. Avoid lifting objects overhead for 3 to 4 weeks. If you experience any unusual pains, sensations, or other symptoms, call Dr. Chiaramonte immediately. You may be told to delay sexual activity for a week or more, and to refrain from physical sport for about a month. After the chosen time period, you can get back to your normal activities at a slow pace. If you become pregnant, the breast lift procedure should not inhibit your breastfeeding abilities; your body’s nipples and their connected milk ducts will be functional and intact.

Your New Look

It is important to remember that the effects of this procedure will not last forever. Gravity, childbirth, the natural aging process, and body fat changes can all do some degree of damage your results. Improved long-term effects can be seen if breast implants are placed during the same operation as your breast lift. Your ultimate happiness with your breast lift will probably be maximized if you comprehend the operation to its full extent and if your expectations of the outcome are in line with reality.

Your Maryland breast lift can be paired with a breast augmentation or a breast reduction, depending on your goals for the surgery, as well as liposuction, a tummy tuck, or even our Bella Body Lift to achieve the best results for you.
